Closure order issued at former hotel. A three-month closure order has been granted at the Sutherland Hotel following ongoing antisocial behaviour (ASB). It will now be a criminal offence for anyone to enter the hotel premises. The order was obtained following reports of items being thrown from windows, broken glass hazards, drug-related activity, noise disturbance and a fire at the property. The issues at the hotel have had a considerable impact on all those trying to deal with it; not least the local residents. This kind of behaviour can have a significant impact on people’s day-to-day lives and wellbeing, so it was important we took action to prevent further harm. Working with Cornwall Council and the community safety team, the order was granted on 26 May, We'll continue to work with partners to ensure the order is followed.
